In patient care in orthopaedic technology workshops, the use of fibre- plastic composites with continuous f ibre reinforcement has become indispensable due to the good properties of the material. However, the use of conventional textile semi-finished products such as woven fabrics is usually associated with a large amount of material waste and high manual effort. Using generative manufacturing processes, by contrast, offers significant process- and material-specific advantages for orthotic design.
